Restrictions on the Condition and Use of the Flag

  • Tattered or worn-out flags must never be used or displayed.
  • The flag shall not be worn, whether as a whole or as part of a costume.

Use of the Flag on Motor Vehicles

  • The national flag must not be used as a pennant on the hood or any part of a motor vehicle.
  • Exception: Motor vehicle display of the flag is permitted only during Independence Day or other patriotic occasions as designated by the President.

  • The amendments are made under the authority vested in the President by law.
  • The provisions amend Paragraph 14 of Executive Order No. 321 dated June 12, 1950.
  • This amendment was signed and effected in Manila on May 14, 1964, by President Diosdado Macapagal and Acting Executive Secretary Calixto O. Zaldivar.
