Role and Responsibilities of the Department of Education
- The DepEd is mandated to include Palarong Pambansa and its stages (school intramurals, district, division, and regional athletic meets) in its regular calendar, preferably in May or during the summer vacation to avoid disruption of classes.
- DepEd will propose necessary budgetary allocations for the Palarong Pambansa and its preparatory activities in the annual General Appropriations Act.
Coordination Between DepEd and PSC
- Despite the transfer, DepEd and PSC will continue coordinating on programs and projects related to physical education and school sports.
- This cooperative effort also covers activities commemorating the 2005 International Year for Sports and Physical Education as declared by the United Nations.
Formulation of Implementing Guidelines
- DepEd, alongside PSC and other relevant entities, is tasked to formulate comprehensive rules and guidelines for the effective enforcement of this Executive Order.
- These guidelines must be established within forty-five days after the order’s effectivity.
Repealing Clause
- All prior Executive Orders, Administrative Orders, or other issuances that are inconsistent with this order are repealed, modified, or amended accordingly to ensure conformity.
Effectivity
- This Executive Order takes effect immediately upon issuance on May 31, 2005, emphasizing the urgency and immediate applicability of the new administrative arrangements regarding Palarong Pambansa management.
