Territorial segregation and organization
- The barrios of Buenavista Norte and Buenavista Sur and Cabul-an Island, all from the municipality of Jetafe, Province of Bohol, are segregated to form part of the new municipality.
- The barrios of Daet Norte and Lapacan Sur, both from the municipality of Inabanga, Province of Bohol, are segregated to form part of the new municipality.
- The segregated barrios and Cabul-an Island are organized into an independent municipality to be known as the Municipality of Buenavista.
- Executive Order No. 373 amends Executive Order No. 362, which created the municipality of Buenavista.
Boundaries of Buenavista municipality
- The Municipality of Buenavista has defined boundaries beginning at point 1 marked aXa on a boulder of 2 meters diameter, on the right bank of Malijao creek.
- The boundary runs from point 1 to point 2 to point 3 to point 4 to point 5 to point 6 to point 7 to point 8 to point 9, using the listed bearings and distances.
- From point 1 to point 2, the boundary runs S. 30A 15' E., 1051.2 meters to point 2 on Malijao bridge.
- From point 2 to point 3, the boundary runs S. 62A 45' E., 6320.5 meters to point 3 on top of Mt. Campamingao.
- From point 3 to point 4, the boundary runs S. 67A 10' E., 4648.75 meters to point 4 on top of Mt. Lole.
- From point 4 to point 5, the boundary runs S. 12A 23' W., 3933.9 meters to point 5 on top of Mt. Cabug.
- From point 5 to point 6, the boundary runs S. 19A 17' W., 3230.37 meters to point 6 on top of Mt. Tawagan.
- From point 6 to point 7, the boundary runs N. 83A 17' W., 1535.42 meters to point 7 on top of Mt. Catolo-an.
- From point 7 to point 8, the boundary runs N. 64A 15' W., 9847.70 meters to point 8 on Km. 77.
- From point 8 to point 9, the boundary runs N. 53A 45' W., 2735.70 meters to point 9.
- The boundary then follows the boundary of the marine waters which the municipality shall have pursuant to Section 2321 of the Revised Administrative Code, returning to point 1 as the point of beginning.
- The boundary description is based on the sketch plan or map of the proposed new municipality of Buenavista, prepared by the Office of the Highway District Engineer, province of Bohol, on file in the concerned office.
Effect on mother municipalities
- The municipalities of Jetafe and Inabanga retain their territories minus the portions included in the territory of the Municipality of Buenavista as delimited above.
- The segregation reduces the territorial extent of Jetafe and Inabanga only to the extent necessary to include their specified barrios in Buenavista.
When Buenavista begins to exist
- The Municipality of Buenavista begins to exist upon the appointment and qualification of the mayor, vice-mayor, and a majority of the councilors.
- The municipality’s existence is also conditioned on certification by the Secretary of Finance.
- The Secretary of Finance must certify that Buenavista is financially capable of implementing the provisions of the Minimum Wage Law.
- The Secretary of Finance must certify that Buenavista can provide all statutory obligations and ordinary essential services of a regular municipality.
- The Secretary of Finance must certify that, after segregation, the mother municipalities of Jetafe and Inabanga can still maintain creditably their municipal governments.
- The Secretary of Finance must also certify that, after segregation, Jetafe and Inabanga can meet all their statutory and contractual obligations and provide essential municipal services.
Amendment of prior executive order
- Executive Order No. 373 amends Executive Order No. 362 issued on October 5, 1959.
- The amendment is made to reflect the segregation and organizational provisions establishing the Municipality of Buenavista under the updated terms stated in Executive Order No. 373.
