- The Board of Electronics and Communications Engineering exercises authority under Section 13(j) of Republic Act No. 5734 (the Electronics and Communication Engineering Law of the Philippines).
- Empowered to adopt standards and measures necessary for the advancement of the electronics and communications engineering profession.
Adoption and Promulgation of the Code
- The Board formally adopts the ECE Code Volume 2 as part of the Rules and Regulations governing the practice of Electronics and Communications Engineering in the Philippines.
- This adoption formalizes the Code as a regulatory standard for all practitioners and stakeholders involved in building telephone facilities.
Professional Requirements for Implementation
- Planning and design of building telephone facilities must be prepared, signed, and sealed by a registered electronics and communications engineer holding a valid Certificate of Registration and professional license.
- Actual installation of telephone facilities requires direct supervision by a duly registered and licensed electronics and communications engineer.
Effectivity and Implementation
- Upon approval by the Professional Regulation Commission, the Resolution becomes effective fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation, whichever occurs first.
