Jurisdictional Changes Following Abolition
- All cases that have been lawfully appealed to the Court of Appeals prior to this Order shall be transmitted to the Supreme Court for final adjudication.
- The Supreme Court is granted jurisdiction to take cognizance and render final decisions on these cases.
Appeal Procedures Post-Abolition
- From the date of this Executive Order, any cases that would normally be appealable to the abolished Court of Appeals must now be appealed directly to the Supreme Court.
- The Supreme Court is empowered with the jurisdiction to finally decide all such cases, effectively consolidating appellate jurisdiction.
Repeal of Conflicting Laws
- Any existing laws, provisions, or parts thereof that conflict with or contradict the provisions of this Order are repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Legal Authority and Implementation
- The abolition was ordered by the President of the Philippines, Sergio Osmeña, pursuant to his constitutional and legal powers, specifically invoking Commonwealth Act No. 671.
- The Executive Order was signed and promulgated on March 10, 1945, in the City of Manila, marking immediate effect.
