Executive Order No. 727 upgrades the Ports of Limay and Mariveles in the Philippines to Principal Ports of Entry, aiming to boost economic growth and attract investors to Bataan and its Special Economic Zone.

Questions (EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 727)

To upgrade the Ports of Limay and Mariveles as a principal port of entry (Customs Principal Port of Entry) pursuant to Section 702 of the Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines, as amended, to support economic development in Bataan and its adjacent areas.

The existing Ports of Limay and Mariveles are opened and declared as a principal port of entry, collectively known as the District Port of Limay and Mariveles.

The Commissioner of Customs is authorized—subject to the approval of the Secretary of Finance pursuant to Section 701 of the TCCP—to redefine jurisdictional boundaries and delineate the jurisdictional limits of the new principal port of entry.

It becomes Customs Collection District No. XVI, known as the District Port of Limay and Mariveles.

It has jurisdiction over the entire province of Bataan and such other areas as may be added by the Commissioner of Customs.

The area covered by SBMA-Bataan created under Republic Act No. 7227, Proclamation No. 984, Executive Order No. 381, and other related laws.

The Port of Mariveles is designated as the Sub-port of the District Port of Limay and Mariveles.

A Customs Collector V, assisted by Deputy Collectors of Customs as determined and designated by the Commissioner of Customs.

A Port Collector, assisted by Deputy Collectors of Customs as determined and designated by the Commissioner of Customs.

Yes. For redefining jurisdictional boundaries (Section 2) and for determining personnel requirements (Section 4), it states approval by the Secretary of Finance is required.
