The main purpose of Republic Act No. 11085 is to upgrade the Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center Extension Hospital located in Talavera, Nueva Ecija to a Level II hospital, rename it as Talavera General Hospital, and increase its bed capacity from fifty (50) to one hundred (100) beds.
The new authorized bed capacity of the Talavera General Hospital under RA No. 11085 is one hundred (100) beds.
The Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH) shall implement the increase in bed capacity of the Talavera General Hospital within five (5) years from the approval of the Act.
Besides the increase in bed capacity, the existing hospital facilities and professional health care services must be upgraded to conform with the capacity increase, and the number of medical personnel shall be correspondingly increased.
The funding for the implementation of RA No. 11085 will be included in the annual General Appropriations Act and the Secretary of Health should include the implementation in the Department's program.
Republic Act No. 8527, which increased the bed capacity of the Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center Extension Hospital, is repealed by RA No. 11085.
The Department of Health must promulgate the necessary rules and regulations within sixty (60) days after the approval of the Act.
RA No. 11085 took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
The official new name of the hospital is the Talavera General Hospital.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed RA No. 11085 into law on September 28, 2018.
