The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was created for the efficient and effective law enforcement of all provisions on dangerous drugs and precursors under RA No. 9165.
The DDB serves as the policy-making and strategy-formulating body for planning and formulation of policies and programs on drug prevention and control.
They were abolished but their personnel continue to perform tasks as a detail service with the PDEA until the agency is fully operational and able to recruit new personnel.
The Office of the President, the Philippine National Police (PNP), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the Bureau of Customs (BOC) shall organize the anti-drug task forces.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) exercises operational supervision and provides technical support to the main task force created by the PNP.
The President of the Philippines determines whether the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) or the PDEA shall exercise operational supervision over these task forces.
Funds shall come from the mother agencies creating the task force and from the revenues of the lottery operations of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
A standby fund in the amount of One Billion Pesos (P1,000,000,000.00) shall be created by the PCSO for this purpose.
The PDEA, in coordination with the mother agencies of the task forces, shall formulate the implementing rules and regulations which are subject to the President's approval.
This Executive Order took effect immediately upon approval on May 15, 2003.
All orders, rules, regulations, and issuances or parts thereof inconsistent with this Executive Order are repealed or modified accordingly.
