The purpose of Republic Act No. 11326 is to increase the bed capacity of the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) from 1,200 to 1,500 beds, upgrade its professional health care services and facilities, authorize the increase of its medical personnel, and appropriate funds for these purposes.
Under Republic Act No. 11326, the Southern Philippines Medical Center is authorized to have 1,500 beds.
The increase in bed capacity must be implemented consistent with the development plan of the hospital.
The existing hospital facilities and professional health care services of the Southern Philippines Medical Center shall be upgraded and increased to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity.
The Department of Health, after prior consultation with the SPMC and in coordination with the Department of Budget and Management and the Civil Service Commission, is responsible for determining the additional plantilla positions to be created.
The Secretary of Health shall immediately include the implementation of this Act in the Department's program.
The funding for the implementation of this Act shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
If any provision or part of the Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 6 amends Section 3 of Republic Act No. 1859 as amended, and repeals, amends, or modifies all other laws, decrees, orders, issuances, rules, and regulations or parts thereof inconsistent with this Act.
This Act took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
