The Social Security System (SSS) has begun issuing biometrics identification cards to active members, pensioners, and dependents, with applications accepted at local SSS branches and select Philippine embassies, requiring specific identification documents for processing.

Applicants must present any of the following primary IDs: passport, Professional Regulation Commission Card, Seafarer's Identification and Record Book (SIRB), or valid driver's license. If none are available, two secondary documents can be presented with at least one containing a photo.
