The GSIS Board of Trustees has authorized the acceptance of secondary evidence, such as payroll documents and salary slips, for loan repayment records prior to July 1997 to facilitate the updating and reconciliation of members' accounts.

The acceptable secondary evidences of GSIS loan repayments are Office Payroll, Salary Payslip, and Agency Salary Index Card.

The acceptance of secondary evidence shall only apply to monthly loan repayments that were due and payable prior to July 1997.

Monthly loan repayments from July 1997 onwards shall be recorded based on Agency Remittance Lists.

The submitted secondary evidences must be certified by the duly authorized Agency Finance or Accounting Officer whose specimen signatures are current and on file with the GSIS offices.

No, secondary evidences need not be accompanied by Official Receipts showing remittance of the loan repayments subject of the documents presented.

The purpose is to update and reconcile members' loan records on the basis of documents other than the Agency Remittance Lists, in response to members' requests.

GSIS Board of Trustees Resolution No. 202 dated 15 September 2004 approved the acceptance of secondary evidences of payment.

They must be submitted to GSIS Home Office, District Offices, Field Offices, or Satellite Offices.

Certification by authorized officers ensures the authenticity and validity of the secondary evidence for updating and reconciling loan repayment records in the GSIS system.
