A campus of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) in the Municipality of Leyte, Province of Leyte, to be known as the PUP-Leyte Campus.

The PUP-Leyte Campus shall primarily offer short-term, technical-vocational, undergraduate, and graduate courses within areas determined by the Board of Regents as within competency and aligned with the human resource development goals of Leyte and Region VIII.

The PUP-Leyte Campus is mandated to undertake research and extension services and provide progressive leadership in these areas, including offering graduate degrees through open distance learning under the PUP Open University System.

The Campus Administrator shall be appointed by the Board of Regents based on the guidelines, qualifications, and standards, and upon the recommendation of a duly constituted search committee. The Campus Administrator shall render full-time service.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

All parcels of government land occupied by the campus are declared property of PUP and shall be titled under its name. If PUP ceases to exist or the land is no longer needed by PUP, the land shall revert to the local government units concerned or the Republic of the Philippines.

Within 60 days from the approval of the Act, CHED shall coordinate with DBM to determine the organizational structure and staffing pattern for PUP-Leyte. The Chairperson of CHED shall submit this to the Secretary of DBM for approval.

Republic Act No. 8292, also known as the Higher Education Modernization Act of 1997.

All powers, functions, privileges, responsibilities, and limitations under existing laws shall be deemed granted or imposed upon PUP and its officials whenever appropriate.

The amount necessary to carry out the Act's provisions shall be included in the General Appropriations Act.

The remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.

Fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

All laws, presidential decrees, executive orders, rules, and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are repealed or modified accordingly.
