The purpose is to establish a policy on pre-employment mental, physical, and medical examinations for all officials and employees entering government service to ensure the highest degree of productivity.
The required examinations include Blood Test, Urinalysis, Chest X-ray, Drug Test, and Neuro-psychiatric Exam (if necessary).
The policy was adopted under CSC Resolution No. 97-4683 dated December 18, 1997.
The results must be attached to the revised CSC Form 211, which is the Medical Certificate for Employment.
All heads of departments and agencies are enjoined to appropriate funds for the examinations as part of the government Physical and Mental Fitness Program.
