The main objective of Republic Act No. 11877 is to convert the Oriental Mindoro Central District Hospital in the Municipality of Pinamalayan, Province of Oriental Mindoro, into a provincial hospital to be known as the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital.
The authorized bed capacity of the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital (OMPH) is increased to one hundred fifty (150) beds from the previous twenty-five (25) beds.
The Chief of Hospital of the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital is responsible for preparing the hospital development plan, which must be submitted to the Department of Health (DOH).
The law states that existing professional health care services and facilities of the OMPH shall be upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity.
The existing workforce of the OMPH, including doctors, nurses, and support personnel, shall be increased correspondingly to support the expanded capacity and upgraded services.
The Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro is mandated to provide the necessary funds to cover the maintenance and other operating expenses of the OMPH.
The Secretary of the Department of Health is required to include in the Department's subsidy program support for the capital outlay requirements of the OMPH.
If any provision or part of the Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.
The Act took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
Republic Act No. 11877 was approved by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III, and House Speaker Lord Allan Jay Q. Velasco.
