Executive Order No. 203, dated February 7, 1949, organized certain barrios and sitios of Initao into the independent municipality of Manticao.

The barrios included were Manticao, Talabaan, Mambaya, Punta Silum, and Lugait.

The sitios included were Taloca, Sambuyaan, Pagawan, Upper Malatong, Patag, Daan Manticao, Kalangahan, Mambuaya, Dimalosi, Olab, Taal, Talacogon, Macaw, Tigbao, Cabocabo, Zalimbal, Sisamon, Tamao, Laolao, Lagondogon, Ayaaya, Linabo, Padionga, Santo Nino, Paitan, and Kaloknayan.

The seat of government is at the barrio of Manticao.

The boundaries start from the mouth of Linangkayan Creek, west to east for approximately 7.1 kms, running south along Lourdes district boundary to the Misamis Oriental-Lanao boundary, then northwest following the provincial boundary to Iligan Bay, including territorial waters pursuant to section 2331 of the Revised Administrative Code.

It begins to exist upon the appointment and qualification of the mayor, vice-mayor, and a majority of the municipal councilors.

President Elpidio Quirino signed Executive Order No. 203.

Teodoro Evangelista was the Executive Secretary who signed the order.

Section 68 of the Revised Administrative Code authorizes the reorganization of barrios and sitios into independent municipalities.
