Question & AnswerQ&A (MEMORANDUM)
The primary purpose of the LTO Kiosk is to modernize LTO public services by providing a self-service kiosk for detailed information on various LTO services, latest advisories, and to allow electronic renewal of motor vehicle registrations to decongest LTO sites and improve service efficiency.
Only plain renewal of Private and For-Hire motor vehicles that do not have pending alarms and/or apprehensions are eligible. Tricycles and vehicles requiring renewal of permits are not allowed to renew via the LTO Kiosk.
The two assigned personnel are an MV Inspector and a Customer Service Representative. The MV Inspector is responsible for the upkeep, safety, operations, and security of the kiosk, while the Customer Service Representative assists applicants using the kiosk.
The MV Inspector is assigned a username and password which must be kept confidential, is responsible for logging in and shutting down the kiosk during Start and End of Day, logging out when not in use, ensuring its cleanliness and functionality, and reporting any issues to Stradcom Site Support.
Applicants must input the MV File Number along with any of the following: Plate Number, Engine Number, or Chassis Number for the system to verify eligibility and process the renewal.
The system checks if the applicant has an existing LTO record, has the necessary Certificate of Cover and Certification of Emission Compliance permits, the application date is within one month before or on the registration month, no pending transactions or unclaimed plates exist, and that there are no existing alarms or unsettled apprehensions.
An error prompt is displayed and the applicant must undergo the regular motor vehicle renewal process at the LTO office.
The personnel must input the Motor Vehicle Inspection Report (MVIR) Number and the Date of Inspection.
The MVIR Report must have an inspection date no later than the current date and is valid only for 3 months after the inspection date.
The renewal fees are displayed by the kiosk and the transaction is queued for payment. The applicant is directed to the LTO Cashier area, where their name is called for payment processing.
