The Department of Public Works and Highways mandates the installation of standardized project billboards at construction sites to inform the public about ongoing projects, specifying size, placement, and content guidelines to enhance transparency and accountability.

Q&A (DPWH DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 37, S. 2010)

The main purpose of DPWH Department Order No. 37, S. 2010 is to provide guidelines for the installation of revised project billboards at DPWH project sites to inform the public about ongoing projects.

The required project billboard must measure 4 feet by 8 feet (1200 mm x 2400 mm) and be made using 12 mm (A12 inch) marine plywood or tarpaulin posted on 5 mm (3/16 inch) marine plywood.

For building projects, the project billboard should be installed in front of the project site.

Two billboards are required: one at the beginning and one at the end of the project site.

For road projects 10 kilometers or longer, billboards must also be installed at every 5 kilometers interval in addition to the ones at the beginning and end of the project.

No, the names and/or pictures of any personages must not appear on the billboards as per this Department Order.

It supersedes Department Order No. 5 dated January 20, 2009, and all other previous issuances inconsistent with this new order.

The concerned implementing offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways are responsible for installing the project billboards at their respective project sites.

The provisions of the order took effect immediately upon its adoption on August 6, 2010.

The installation of project billboards serves to inform and guide the citizenry about ongoing DPWH projects, promoting transparency and public awareness regarding government infrastructure developments.
