The main purpose of Republic Act No. 11472 is to increase the bed capacity of the Caraga Regional Hospital from one hundred fifty (150) to five hundred (500) beds and to appropriate funds for this increase.
The Caraga Regional Hospital is located in Barangay Washington, Surigao City, Province of Surigao del Norte.
The increase in bed capacity must be implemented consistent with the development plan of the hospital.
The existing service facilities and professional health services must be upgraded and increased to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity.
The Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), and the Civil Service Commission (CSC) are involved in determining the additional plantilla positions in coordination and consultation with the hospital management.
The chief of the hospital is responsible for developing the hospital development plan, which should reflect the development goals of the hospital consistent with the increase in bed capacity and service capability.
The funding for the implementation of the Act shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act and be part of the Department of Health's programs.
If any provision or part of the Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.
Republic Act No. 8255, which converted the Surigao del Norte Provincial Hospital into the Caraga Regional Hospital, is amended accordingly by this Act.
The Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
