The main purpose of Republic Act No. 6869 is to establish a ten-bed municipal hospital in the Municipality of Cortes, Province of Surigao del Sur, to be known as the Cortes Municipal Hospital.
The Cortes Municipal Hospital shall be established under the supervision of the Department of Health.
The hospital shall be constructed in a site to be determined by the Sangguniang Bayan of the Municipality of Cortes, Province of Surigao del Sur, in consultation with the Office of the Secretary of Health.
The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of the Act shall be charged against the appropriations authorized under the Fiscal Year 1989 General Appropriations Act.
Sums necessary for the operation and maintenance of the hospital shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
The Secretary of Health must issue a written assurance that hospital personnel will be appointed and that funds for its maintenance and operation have been appropriated.
The Act took effect upon its approval on March 8, 1990.
The Act was approved by President Corazon C. Aquino, Senate President Jovito R. Salonga, and House Speaker Ramon V. Mitra.
The hospital is to have a ten-bed capacity.
The Sangguniang Bayan of the Municipality of Cortes is responsible for determining the hospital site, in consultation with the Office of the Secretary of Health.
