Republic Act No. 7081 is an Act creating the Municipality of Talaingod in the Province of Davao by separating certain barangays from the Municipality of Kapalong.
The Barangays of Sto. Nino, Palma Gil, and Dagohoy were separated from Kapalong to constitute the Municipality of Talaingod.
Republic Act No. 7081 was approved on July 29, 1991.
The seat of government is in Tibi-tibi, Barangay Sto. Nino.
It is bounded on the south by the City of Davao, west by the Province of Bukidnon, and northeast and southeast by the Municipality of Kapalong, covering about 45,496 hectares.
A plebiscite must be conducted and ratified by majority vote within 180 days after the Act’s approval.
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) shall conduct and supervise the plebiscite.
They shall be elected at the next regular election of local officials following the plebiscite ratification.
The Act shall take effect upon its publication in at least two newspapers of general circulation.
The new municipality shall be considered duly organized upon their assumption of office.
