RA No. 5077 creates the Municipality of President Manuel A. Roxas in the Province of Zamboanga del Norte.
The barrios were separated from the Municipality of Katipunan in the Province of Zamboanga del Norte.
Barrios Tangian, Langatian, Dohinob, Tanayan, Dinoman, Villahermoso, Capase, Canibongan, Pinalan, Sebod, Marupay, Irasan (spelled “lrasan”), Carupe, Bod, Mamara, Moliton, Sindotan, Mitotong, Sanggay, Nabilid, and Pinamar.
The seat of government is the present site of Barrio Tangian.
It provides a metes-and-bounds description using reference points, coordinates (latitude/longitude), a creek (Minang Creek), a river (Dohinob Daku River / Manukan-Katipunan boundary), and shoreline, starting and ending at the mouth of Minang Creek.
The starting point is the mouth of Minang Creek.
It proceeds upstream until it intersects latitude 8°30', then goes southwest in a straight line to specified coordinate intersections (including 8°28' and 123°15').
Dohinob Daku River.
After reaching Dohinob Daku River, the boundary follows the river downstream until it reaches the mouth of the river.
It follows the shoreline until it reaches the mouth of Minang Creek, the point of beginning.
It acquires corporate existence upon the election and qualification of the first mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors in the next general elections for local officials.
For election purposes, the municipal officials of the mother municipality tasked with election duties hold office until the first officials of the new municipality are elected and qualified.
It takes effect upon its approval.
It was enacted without Executive approval, as indicated by the note: “Enacted without Executive approval, June 17, 1967.”
To clearly determine the territorial jurisdiction of the new LGU—preventing disputes over which areas belong to the municipality—by specifying geographic reference points and directions using coordinates and natural features.
