Republic Act No. 1414 creates the Province of Aklan.
The Province of Aklan consists of the municipalities of Altavas, Balete, Batan, Banga, Buruanga, Ibajay, Kalibo, Lezo, Libacao, Madalag, Malay, Makato, Malinao, Nabas, New Washington, Numancia, and TaAgalan.
The Municipality of Kalibo is designated as the capital of the Province of Aklan.
The Province of Aklan is within the jurisdiction of the Eleventh Judicial District.
The initial elective provincial officers of Aklan shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines with the advice and consent of the Commission on Appointments and will hold office until their successors are elected and qualified at the next general elections.
The Province of Aklan has one Representative District.
The incumbent Representatives for each respective District of the Province of Capiz continue to serve their terms until the next general elections for national officials.
The Second Representative District of Capiz comprises the municipalities of Tapaz, Dumalag, Sigma, Mambusao, Jamindan, and Sapian.
Funds and properties are to be distributed equitably between the two provinces as recommended by the Auditor General and approved by the President of the Philippines.
The Act takes effect on a date set by the President of the Philippines by proclamation.
