The main purpose of Republic Act No. 11877 is to convert the Oriental Mindoro Central District Hospital in the Municipality of Pinamalayan, Province of Oriental Mindoro, into a provincial hospital to be known as the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital.
The authorized bed capacity of the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital shall be increased from twenty-five (25) to one hundred fifty (150) beds.
The Chief of Hospital of the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital is responsible for preparing the hospital development plan for any future increase in bed capacity.
The hospital development plan must be consistent with the Department of Health (DOH) regulations and guidelines.
The existing professional health care services and facilities of the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital shall be upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity.
The workforce of the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital, including doctors, nurses, and support personnel, shall be increased correspondingly to support the increased bed capacity and upgraded services.
The Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro shall provide the necessary funds to cover maintenance and other operating expenses.
The Secretary of the Department of Health shall include support for the capital outlay requirements of the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital in the Department’s subsidy program.
If any provision or part of the Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.
Republic Act No. 11877 took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
