Republic Act No. 11719 is an Act converting the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital located in the Municipality of Daraga, Province of Albay into a general and subspecialty hospital, to be known as the Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center (BRHMC), and appropriating funds therefor.
The Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital is renamed as the Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center (BRHMC) under RA 11719.
The bed capacity of the BRHMC shall be increased from two hundred fifty (250) to eight hundred (800) beds.
The Department of Health (DOH) is responsible for preparing the hospital development plan for any future increases in bed capacity.
The existing professional health care services and facilities of BRHMC are upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increased bed capacity.
The existing workforce of doctors, nurses, and support personnel shall be increased correspondingly. The Secretary of the DOH, in consultation with the Chief of BRHMC and coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management and the Commissioner of the Civil Service Commission, shall determine additional new positions to be created and filled up.
The Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH) is mandated to include the implementation of this Act in the Department's program, with funding included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
If any provision or part of RA 11719 is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.
All laws, executive orders, issuances, rules, and regulations inconsistent with RA 11719 are modified accordingly.
RA 11719 took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
