Manila City Ordinance No. 8420, enacted on September 28, 2015, authorizes the acquisition of certain parcels of land in Sampaloc, Manila.
The ordinance authorizes the acquisition pursuant to Section 19 of Republic Act No. 7160, also known as the Local Government Code of 1991, and the Land-for-the-Landless Program of the City of Manila.
The city mayor may acquire the parcels of land by negotiation, expropriation, or by other legal means.
The total land area of the parcels to be acquired is one thousand one hundred ninety square meters and five square decimeters (1,190.5 sq. m.).
The owners are Prieto et al. Alejandro, Alegar Corporation, and Legarda Alejandro, as indicated by the respective Transfer Certificate of Title numbers.
The parcels of land will be subdivided and resold at cost and/or payable on an installment basis to qualified member-beneficiaries of the Tahanan ng Taga Sampaloc, Inc., who are actual occupants of the land.
The installment payment term shall not exceed twenty (20) years.
The funds will be appropriated in the next annual budget following the approval of the ordinance.
Copies of the ordinance shall be published in newspapers of general circulation and posted in conspicuous places.
The ordinance took effect upon its approval on September 28, 2015.
