It declares the specified area in Candon City, Ilocos Sur as a tourist destination; its development must be prioritized by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and is subject to the applicable rules and regulations governing tourist destinations.
Barangay Palacapac, Barangay San Andres, Barangay Cubcubbuot, and Barangay Amguid, all in the City of Candon, Province of Ilocos Sur.
Three hundred ninety-five and 25/100 (395.25) hectares, more or less.
Beginning at a point marked 1, being identical to MBM No. 31, CAD 103, Candon Cadastre, Ilocos Sur.
Within one (1) year after the approval of the Act.
Construction, installation, and maintenance of appropriate facilities and infrastructure that enhance tourism in the area.
It must ensure the preservation and conservation of the natural beauty and resources of the area.
They must take immediate steps to implement the tourism development plan suitable to the natural characteristics of the zone; incorporate it in the DOT tourism program for the ensuing calendar year; and include the zone in national, regional, and local promotion programs.
The DOT Secretary shall include implementation in the Department’s program; funding shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act and from internally generated funds of the DOT.
Within sixty (60) days from the effectivity of the Act.
The Secretary of DOT must consult with the local government unit of Candon.
Fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in any newspaper of general circulation.
It amends accordingly all laws, rules, regulations, proclamations, executive orders, or parts thereof inconsistent with the Act.
Development is prioritized by the DOT.
DOT must coordinate with concerned LGUs and agencies for the development plan, and DOT must consult with the Candon LGU for the rules and regulations.
