Question & AnswerQ&A (Republic Act No. 11969)
The short title of Republic Act No. 11969 is the "Bataan Peninsula State University-Bagac Campus Act."
It converts the Bataan Peninsula State University-Bagac Extension Campus into a regular campus of the Bataan Peninsula State University, to be known as the Bataan Peninsula State University-Bagac Campus.
The BPSU-Bagac Campus shall primarily provide short-term, technical-vocational, undergraduate, and graduate courses within its areas of competency and specialization, undertake research and extension services, and provide progressive leadership in these areas.
The campus shall be headed by a Campus Administrator, who is appointed by the Board of Regents of BPSU subject to guidelines, qualifications, and standards set by the Board and upon recommendation of a search committee.
The BPSU must ensure that the BPSU-Bagac Campus complies with the policies, standards, and guidelines of CHED for the operation of regular campuses, including the offering of courses and the introduction of new or revised programs.
All assets, personnel, and records, including liabilities or obligations, are titled under or named after the BPSU. Government-owned land occupied by the campus is also the property of BPSU, and if the campus ceases to exist or the land is no longer needed, the property reverts to the local government unit or the Republic of the Philippines.
Republic Act No. 8292, also known as the "Higher Education Modernization Act of 1997," forms part of this Act.
Funding shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act for the BPSU-Bagac Campus, including plantilla positions. The Municipality of Bagac shall continue funding assistance until the necessary amount is included in the GAA.
If any part or provision of this Act is declared invalid or unconstitutional, the remaining parts not affected shall remain in full force and effect.
