The Summit was scheduled for October 26, 2000, at the Heroes Hall, Malacanang Palace, Manila.
The Office is the primary policy-making and coordinating body of all child development programs and institutions in the Philippines, tasked with advising the President on children-related issues, reviewing legislation, facilitating funding, and other functions authorized by the President.
The Presidential Adviser for Children's Affairs is the Chief Executive Officer of the Office.
The Adviser can establish the organizational structure, appoint and discipline personnel, direct and supervise operations, and perform other functions authorized by the President.
All government offices, agencies, and instrumentalities must provide any assistance required by the Committee, and failure to do so shall be deemed an administrative offense subject to applicable laws and regulations.
An initial sum of Five Million Pesos (P5,000,000.00) is authorized and released from the National Treasury from any fund not otherwise appropriated.
