QuestionsQuestions (PRC BOARD OF GEODETIC ENGINEERING Resolution NO. 08, S. 2005)
To approve the prescribed format of the application form for issuance of building permit (as required under the Revised IRR of the Building Code) as adopted by the Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (GEP), and to endorse it to the DPWH for adoption by all building officials as the official application form.
Section 302 (Application for Permits), Rule III (Permits and Inspection), specifically Section 302(1), states that applications for building permits (and ancillary/accessory permits) shall be filed on the prescribed application forms.
The application must be accompanied by five (5) sets of lot survey plans prepared, signed, and sealed by a duly registered and licensed geodetic engineer.
GEP submitted a resolution adopting a prescribed format for the building permit application form (Resolution No. 028, Series of 2004-2005), and the PRC Board approved that format.
It means endorsing the approved application form format to the Department of Public Works and Highways so that DPWH can adopt it and require its use by all building officials.
The legal basis is the Revised IRR of the Building Code of the Philippines (P.D. 1096), particularly Rule III, Section 302 on applications for permits.
A duly registered and licensed geodetic engineer.
Five (5) sets.
Because it conforms with the provisions of the IRR of P.D. 1096, the measures and policies of the Board and the Commission, and the guidelines and rules of the amended By-Laws of GEP.
It approves the format in the Annex “A” (the application form format) as prescribed and adopted by the GEP.

Attested by Carlos G. Almelor, Secretary, Professional Regulatory Boards; Approved by Leonor Tripon-Rosero (Chairperson) and Renato B. Valdecantos and/or Avelina A. De la Rea as Commissioners (as shown in the signature block).
It establishes that applications for building permits must be filed using officially prescribed formats, which the resolution seeks to standardize for all building officials.
It is a regulatory/administrative issuance aimed at standardization and implementation of statutory/IRR requirements, facilitating adoption by another government agency (DPWH) for uniform application in the field.
