EO No. 176 (May 3, 1994) approves and adopts the National Youth Development Plan (NYDP) for 1994–1998.
To inculcate in the youth patriotism and nationalism and to encourage their involvement in national development and civic activities.
It is stated that youth mainstreaming activities should comprise part of the Administration’s blueprint of action and that the President directed formulation of the NYDP as a vital component of the Medium Term Philippine Development Plan.
The Social Development Committee under the NEDA Board and the Cabinet Cluster C approved the NYDP during its joint meeting on March 15, 1994.
They approved it during their meeting on April 19, 1994.
The attached NYDP (Annex A) is approved.
The Presidential Council for Youth Affairs (PCYA) shall coordinate implementation.
Collaboration is required with the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), concerned government agencies, and Local Government Units (LGUs).
The PCYA may request the Regional Development Councils (RDCs) to assist in monitoring the Plan at the regional level.
Yes. Non-government and private volunteer organizations are enjoined to assist in the monitoring and implementation of the Plan.
They are directed to fully discharge their respective functions and responsibilities.
It takes effect immediately.
Annex A is the NYDP itself (approved under Section 1), while Annex B lists the concerned agencies and instrumentalities identified in the Plan (directed under Section 3).
