Republic Act No. 8811 transfers the capital and seat of government of the Province of Agusan del Norte from Butuan City to the Municipality of Cabadbaran.
Prior to RA 8811, the capital and seat of government of Agusan del Norte was located in Butuan City.
It was transferred to the Municipality of Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte.
It must secure the immediate transfer and establishment of a provincial government center in Cabadbaran where all provincial offices shall be relocated.
The vacated site shall be retained for public purposes and named in honor of the late Teofisto Guingona in consideration of the donation of the property to the provincial government.
The law expressly provides that all provincial offices shall be relocated to the provincial government center established in Cabadbaran.
RA 8811 authorizes a total of One hundred million pesos (₱100,000,000) for the next five (5) years.
Twenty million pesos (₱20,000,000) per year.
The first ₱20,000,000 shall be appropriated from the General Appropriations Act of the current year to support the immediate transfer of the provincial capitol and government center.
Appropriation from the General Appropriations Act for the next five (5) years.
All laws, decrees, orders, rules, and regulations, or parts thereof, inconsistent with RA 8811 are repealed or amended accordingly.
If any provision is declared unconstitutional or invalid, the remaining parts not affected continue to be in full force and effect.
It takes effect immediately upon its approval.
It was enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled, and was approved on August 16, 2000.
