RA 11080 reapportions Isabela into six (6) legislative districts.
They commence in the next national and local elections after the effectivity of the Act.
Each district must be composed of specific municipalities/cities listed in Section 1(a) to (f).
Iligan City, Cabagan, Delfin Albano, Divilacan, Maconacon, Tumauini, San Pablo, Sta. Maria, and Sto. Tomas.
Benito Soliven, Palanan, Naguilian, Reina Mercedes, San Mariano, and Gamu.
Alicia, Cabatuan, San Mateo, Ramon, and Angadanan.
Santiago City, Cordon, Dinapigue, San Agustin, and Jones.
Aurora, Burgos, Luna, Mallig, Quezon, Quirino, Roxas, and San Manuel.
Cauayan City, Echague, San Guillermo, San Isidro.
They continue to represent their respective legislative districts until new representatives are duly elected and qualified.
The Act takes effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation; publication is required to make the law effective.
All laws, rules, and regulations inconsistent with RA 11080 are repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.
Continuity of representation and avoidance of premature termination of incumbents’ terms; the new districts apply for the next elections after effectivity.
To align reapportionment with the electoral calendar and ensure orderly transition and implementation.
It originated in the House, was passed May 28, 2018, amended by the Senate on Sept. 3, 2018, and House concurrence occurred Sept. 10, 2018; it was approved Sept. 27, 2018.
