The main purpose of Republic Act No. 11545 is to reapportion the First Legislative District of the City of Caloocan into two legislative districts, designated as the First Legislative District and the Third Legislative District.
The reapportionment will take effect in the 2022 national and local elections.
The First Legislative District shall be composed of Barangays 1, 2, 3, 4, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 132 to 177.
The Third Legislative District shall be composed of Barangays 178, 179, 180, 181, 182, 183, 184, 185, 186, 187, and 188.
The Commission on Elections is mandated to issue the necessary implementing rules and regulations within thirty (30) days after the effectivity of this Act.
All laws, rules, and regulations that are inconsistent with this Act are repealed or amended accordingly.
This Act took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
Republic Act No. 11545 was approved by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on May 26, 2021.
