Republic Act No. 9232 amends Sections 2, 11(a), and 55 of Republic Act No. 8508, which is the Charter converting the Municipality of Antipolo into a component city known as the City of Antipolo.

The City of Antipolo is divided into two districts: the First District comprising barangays Bagong Nayon, Beverly Hills, De la Paz, Mambugan, Mayamot, Munting Dilao, San Isidro, and Sta. Cruz; and the Second District comprising barangays Calawis, Cupang, Dalig, Inarawan, San Jose, San Juan, San Luis, and San Roque.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod consists of the city vice mayor as presiding officer; sixteen regular sanggunian members elected by district (eight from the First District and eight from the Second District); the president of the city chapter of the liga ng mga barangay; the president of the panlungsod na pederasyon ng mga sangguniang kabataan; and sectoral representatives.

The two legislative districts shall take effect starting from the next national elections to be held after the effectivity of RA No. 9232.

The two elective members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Rizal shall be elected by legislative district, with each district of Antipolo entitled to one representative.

All laws, executive orders, regulations, or parts thereof inconsistent with the provisions of RA No. 9232 are repealed or modified accordingly.

RA No. 9232 took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in at least two newspapers of general circulation in the Philippines. It was approved on December 22, 2003.
