What RA 5276 amends
- Section 1 amends Section 1 of Republic Act No. 3320 to define the municipality and its governing seat.
- Republic Act No. 3320 is the predecessor law amended by Section 1.
Municipal composition and seat transfer
- Section 1 provides that Barrios Bugallon, Burgos, San Miguel, Sebastian, Raniag and Pagrang-ayan are constituted into the Municipality of Santiago and are separated into a new and separate municipality.
- Section 1 provides that Barrios Oscariz, bacalan and Bantug Petinez are constituted into the Municipality of San Mateo and are separated into a new and separate municipality.
- Section 1 establishes that the new and separate municipality formed from those barrios is known as the Municipality of Ramon.
- Section 1 sets the rule on location of government: the seat of government of the Municipality of Ramon shall be located at the present site of Barrio Bugallon.
Effect on existing seat location
- Section 1 shifts the seat of government to Barrio Bugallon by requiring the seat of the Municipality of Ramon to be located at Barrio Bugallon’s present site.
