The provisions of Republic Act No. 8292, known as the Higher Education Modernization Act of 1997, are declared as integral and governing parts of this renaming Act and serve as the governing charter for NEMSU.

Amendment and Repeal of Conflicting Laws and Regulations

All laws, executive orders, decrees, instructions, rules, and regulations that are inconsistent or contrary to any provision of this Act are amended, repealed, or modified to conform with the provisions of this Act.

Effectivity of the Act

This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication either in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

Legislative and Executive Approvals

The Act was passed by the House of Representatives on June 24, 2020, and by the Senate on May 24, 2021.
