Knowledge Requirements

Completion of Flight Experience

Completion of Crew Resource Management (CRM) Training

  • Applicants must have completed a CRM course as a condition for the ATPL application.

Holder of Commercial Pilot License (Airplane) (CPL-A) Requirement

  • The applicant for ATPL (A) must hold a CPL (A) prior to application.

Multi-Pilot License (MPL) Holders' Flight Hour Requirements

  • MPL (A) holders must have at least 3,000 hours as pilot of airplanes; up to 100 hours may be in a flight simulator.
  • Within these hours, applicants must complete at least 350 hours as pilot-in-command (PIC), or at least 10 hours as PIC plus the remaining hours performing PIC duties under supervision.

Initial Issuance of ATPL with Limitations

  • Upon passing the skill test, the ATPL will be issued with the limitations:
    • "For Multi-Crew Operations Only"
    • "For Supervised Line Flying Only"

Completion of Supervised Line Flying (SLF) Hours

  • Applicants must complete a minimum of 150 hours as PIC during SLF.

Upgrading ATPL Limitations

  • After completing 150 hours of PIC during SLF, the ATPL issued will retain the limitation: "For Multi-Crew Operations Only".

Effectivity of Supplemental Regulations

  • These regulations take effect fifteen (15) days after publication in a single newspaper and filing with the University of the Philippines Law Center - Office of the National Administrative Register.
