Funding and Appropriations
- Initial funding for the hospital's establishment will be charged against the appropriations under the Fiscal Year 1989 General Appropriations Act.
- Future funding for the operation and maintenance of the hospital shall be provided through annual appropriations included in the General Appropriations Act.
Pre-Construction Assurance Requirements
- Prior to the commencement of hospital construction, the Secretary of Health must issue a written assurance.
- This assurance must confirm that:
- Personnel for the hospital will be duly appointed.
- Appropriate funds for the maintenance and operation of the hospital have been allocated.
Effectivity of the Act
- The law takes effect immediately upon its approval by the President.
- It was approved on March 9, 1990, following its passage by both the House of Representatives and the Senate on December 22, 1989.
