Territory, capital, and governing rules
- Section 2 fixes the territory of the new Province of Camiguin as the present territory of the Subprovince of Camiguin.
- Section 2 sets the capital of the Province of Camiguin as the Municipality of Mambajao.
- Section 2 applies the Administrative Code and other laws governing regularly organized provinces to the new province’s government and operation, including provisions on elections, appointments, and remuneration of provincial officers.
Election of elective provincial officials
- Section 3 requires the elective provincial officials of the new Province of Camiguin to be elected at the general election for local officials in November, nineteen hundred sixty-seven.
- Section 6 provides that the new province’s corporate existence commences upon the election and assumption of office of the officials identified in Section 3.
Representation in the House of Representatives
- Section 4 establishes that the Province of Camiguin shall have a Representative in the House of Representatives.
- Section 4 requires that the Representative for Camiguin be elected in the general election for such office in November, nineteen hundred sixty-nine.
- Section 4 preserves continuity by providing that the present Representative of the Province of Misamis Oriental continues to represent the Province of Camiguin during his term of office as Representative.
Transfer of funds, obligations, and property
- Section 5 provides that all funds, obligations, and property of all kinds owned by and/or to be assigned to the Subprovince of Camiguin transfer to the newly established Province of Camiguin.
- Section 5 makes the newly formed province the recipient of such property, funds, and obligations upon establishment.
Corporate existence and repeals
- Section 6 states that the new province commences corporate existence upon the election and assumption of office of the officials mentioned in Section 3.
- Section 7 repeals all Acts or parts of Acts inconsistent with Republic Act No. 4669.
Effectivity
- Section 8 provides that Republic Act No. 4669 takes effect upon approval.
- The law was enacted without Executive approval, June 18, 1966.
