Incumbent Representative's Term
- The current Representative of the First Legislative District of Laguna will continue to represent the district until the end of their existing term.
- There is no immediate change in representation upon the law’s effectivity until the next election.
Rules and Regulations Implementation
- The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is mandated to issue the necessary rules and regulations to implement the provisions of the Act.
- COMELEC must promulgate such guidelines within thirty (30) days from the effectivity of the law.
Repealing Clause
- Any laws, rules, or regulations that conflict with this Act are repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.
- This ensures legal consistency and removes contradictory provisions.
Effectivity
- The Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication.
- Publication must be made in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation to inform the public adequately.
Legislative Process and Approval
- The Act originated in the House of Representatives and passed there on February 24, 2014.
- The Senate amended the bill on January 26, 2015, and the House concurred in the amendments on January 28, 2015.
- It was approved by the President of the Philippines on March 27, 2015, thereby becoming law.
