Criminal Liability for Discrimination Violations
- Willful commission of unlawful acts under this law or its associated rules is subject to criminal penalties as stipulated in Articles 288, 289, and 135 of the Revised Penal Code.
- Filing criminal charges does not prevent the aggrieved employee from independently filing a civil action for money claims, including damages and other relief.
- Separate criminal and civil actions may proceed concurrently without affecting one another.
Renumbering of Existing Provisions
- Sections 4 to 14 of Rule XI, Book III of the Rules Implementing P.D. 442 have been renumbered as Sections 6 to 16 respectively to accommodate new insertions.
Effectivity of the Rules
- The amended rules shall take effect fifteen (15) days after publication in at least two national newspapers of general circulation.
- This ensures public awareness and compliance with the updated regulations.
