Accreditation Criteria for Providers

- Content beyond basic professional entry-level knowledge
- Relevant scope to profession
- Focus on upgrading and updating knowledge and skills
Accredited Programs and Equivalent Credit Units
- Providers submit programs, activities, or sources for accreditation
- No implementation prior to accreditation
- Definitions of key terms such as seminars, conventions, degrees, fellowships, residencies, authorship, self-directed learning, etc., provided
Credit Requirements
- Registered professionals with baccalaureate degree: 60 credit units every 3 years
- Professionals without baccalaureate degree: 30 credit units every 3 years
- One credit hour equals one credit unit
- Excess units generally not carried over except for doctoral/masteral degrees
Accreditation Procedures
A. For Providers:
- Submission of application including credentials, business permits, past activities, and quality mechanisms
- Valid NBI clearance for individuals B. For Programs/Activities/Sources:
- Submission of detailed program application including objectives, participants, schedule, speakers, evaluation methods
- Council issues accreditation certificate within 30 days if compliant
Post-Accreditation Requirements
- Providers to submit completion reports within 15 days
- Reports to include attendance lists, program evaluation summaries, dates, venue, monitoring representatives
Exemptions from CPE Requirements
- Permanent exemption at age 65 upon application submission with relevant personal and professional data
- Temporary exemption for professionals working or studying abroad at least 2 years with proper application and documentary proof
- Exempt professionals allowed license renewal without CPE compliance upon payment of fees
Sanctions and Penalties
- Non-compliant professionals cannot renew licenses
- Professionals failing to renew for 5 years declared delinquent and removed from professional roster after due notice
- PRC employees facilitating non-compliant renewals liable to administrative penalties
- CPE providers violating guidelines face accreditation cancellation
Transitory Provisions
