Key Provisions of the Amendment
- Section 3 of MMA Ordinance No. 5, Series of 1994 was amended pursuant to Section 6 of RA 7924.
- Individuals violating the Truck Ban Ordinance shall now pay a fine of Two Thousand Pesos (Php 2,000.00).
- If a driver is apprehended violating the truck ban three (3) times, the MMDA shall recommend a one (1) year suspension of the driver’s license.
Implementing Authority and Effectivity
- The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is the enforcing body for the ordinance.
- The resolution took effect within fifteen (15) days from its publication in two newspapers of general circulation in Metro Manila.
- It was also submitted to the Office of the National Administrative Register (ONAR) at the UP Law Center.
Legal and Official Certification
- The resolution was adopted by the majority of the Metro Manila Council members in a Regular Meeting on July 8, 2014, at the Holiday Inn Makati.
- Certification was signed by Atty. Rochelle T Macapili-Ona, Head of the Council Secretariat.
