Additional processing rules and requirements
- Non-restricted nationalities must, for residency beyond two weeks, visit the nearest police station to indicate residence and obtain the first temporary residency.
- Restricted nationalities must, after police-station indication of residence, visit the Borders and Residency Department to obtain the first temporary residency permit within the first two weeks of entry.
- The medical clearance certificate must be issued by certified health centers.
- Every foreign national above 12 years of age must submit a medical clearance certificate.
- Accompanying members 16 years of age must have an independent passport and residency permit.
- The applicant must complete the process of obtaining the annual residence permit by visiting one of the branches distributed around Jordan even after acquiring the work permit, because acquiring a work permit does not result in obtaining the residency permit.
- The residency permit is considered cancelled in case of staying more than six months outside Jordan.
