Powers and Duties of the NPDC Executive Director
- The Executive Director has the authority to execute and administer policies and measures adopted by the NPDC.
- Acts as Chief Executive Officer, managing day-to-day operations and internal administration.
- Authorized to sign all agreements and contracts for the NPDC.
- Responsible for preparing meeting agendas and presenting policies and measures for the Committee’s consideration.
- Prepares and submits the annual and supplemental budgets for approval.
- Possesses authority to appoint, discipline, remove NPDC personnel, and define their duties, subject to Civil Service Rules and Regulations.
- Performs other powers and duties assigned by the Committee.
Coordination, Funding, and Assistance
- NPDC is authorized to coordinate with other government agencies to assist in its functions.
- It may accept donations and grants from the private sector.
- Such funding is subject to government accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
Repeal and Modification of Inconsistent Laws
- Any laws, rules, regulations, or executive issuances inconsistent with this Executive Order are repealed or modified accordingly.
Effectivity
- The Executive Order takes effect immediately upon issuance on October 13, 1999.
This Executive Order reorganizes and updates the composition and functions of the National Parks Development Committee to enhance the management and development of national parks, ensuring broader inter-agency cooperation and clear administrative authority.
