Renaming Rodriguez as Montalban Municipality

The renaming will take effect only after ratification by a majority of the qualified voters in the Municipality of Rodriguez.
The ratification is to be conducted through a plebiscite.
The plebiscite is to be supervised and conducted by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
The financial responsibility for the plebiscite's expenses falls on the Municipality of Rodriguez, Province of Rizal.

This Act repeals Batas Pambansa Blg. 275, which previously changed the name from Municipality of Montalban to Municipality of Rodriguez.

The Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication.
Publication must be in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation to be valid.

The Act originated from the House of Representatives and passed there on March 17, 2021.
The Senate amended the bill and passed it on January 31, 2022.
The House concurred with Senate amendments on February 2, 2022.
The law lapsed into effect on June 2, 2022, without the President's signature, pursuant to the Philippine Constitution Article VI, Section 27 (1).
