Governing Rules and Regulations for Registration
- Registration shall be governed by Presidential Decree No. 210 (June 8, 1973) concerning the system of registration for members of the barangays or Citizens Assemblies.
- Amendments and provisions regarding prohibited acts, penalties, prosecution, and jurisdiction stipulated in PD No. 210 apply to this registration period.
List of Barangay Voters
- The voter list from the February 27-28, 1975 Referendum shall be adopted for the October 1976 National Referendum-Plebiscite.
- The list may be supplemented with additions, corrections, or cancellations as dictated by relevant laws or decrees.
Commission on Elections’ Powers and Responsibilities
- The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is tasked to promulgate necessary rules, regulations, and forms for registration.
- COMELEC may set reglementary periods for procedural acts and is empowered to update voter lists.
- It can issue rules addressing disputes related to registration and related matters.
- COMELEC may hire contractual personnel if deemed expedient and economical.
- Officials and employees may be required to work overtime during registration and referendum periods, including non-working days, with appropriate compensation per existing laws.
Appropriation of Funds
- A total amount of Two Million Six Hundred Thousand Pesos (P2,600,000.00) is appropriated from the National Treasury to implement the Decree.
Effectivity
- This Decree takes immediate effect upon its signing.
