Allocation and Use of the Reforestation Fund

Rule-Making Authority

  • The Director of Forestry, with the Secretary’s approval, is empowered to promulgate necessary rules and regulations to implement the Act’s objectives.

Reporting Requirements

  • The Director of Forestry must submit an annual report to the President through the Secretary of Agriculture and Commerce.
  • Report includes reforested/afforested locations and areas, costs, income from the Act including sales, and any other relevant data.

Penalties for Non-Payment

  • Entities failing to pay the required charges upon demand incur a fine of at least five hundred pesos plus a surcharge of 25% of the amount due.
  • Non-payment within 60 days may lead to license cancellation and forfeiture of bond deposit.

Repeal of Contradictory Laws

  • All laws or parts of laws inconsistent with this Act are repealed.

Effectivity

  • The Act takes effect immediately upon approval.
