Composition of Members and Governance
- Members: parents or guardians of students enrolled and attending the School for at least one school year.
- School year defined by the School's calendar of studies and work schedule.
- Governance by a Board of Trustees elected at large from the corporation's members in good standing.
Admission and Management Provisions
- Admission: Open to applicants regardless of nationality following the School’s eligibility standards and rules.
- Nationality Limit: No single alien nationality shall exceed 30% of the total student population per school year.
- Administration: Managed by a qualified superintendent as prescribed by the Board.
Curriculum, Language, and Fees
- Curriculum: Determined independently by the School upon consultation with the Secretary of Education.
- Language: School may teach any language(s) it deems proper.
- Fees: School may set reasonable fees and assessments to maintain or conform to its education standards.
Educational Standards and Personnel Employment
- Education standards: Compatible with those of similar, generally recognized international schools.
- Personnel: School may employ teaching and management personnel locally or internationally.
- Foreign personnel are exempt from nationality restrictions related to educational control and administration.
- Foreign personnel remain liable for income taxes despite exemptions.
Rulemaking Authority
- Secretary of Education authorized to issue necessary implementing rules for the Act's provisions.
Severability Clause
- If any part of the Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining provisions shall remain effective and operational.
Effectivity
- The Act takes effect immediately upon approval.
