Legislative district reapportionment
- Section 1 provides that the Province of Cavite shall have seven (7) legislative districts.
- Section 1 reapportions Cavite into legislative districts as follows:
- First Legislative District: Cavite City; Kawit; Noveleta; Rosario.
- Second Legislative District: Bacoor.
- Third Legislative District: Imus.
- Fourth Legislative District: Dasmariñas.
- Fifth Legislative District: Carmona; General Mariano Alvarez (GMA); Silang.
- Sixth Legislative District: Trece Martires City; General Trias; Tanza; Amadeo.
- Seventh Legislative District: Tagaytay City; Alfonso; General Aguinaldo; Indang; Magallanes; Maragondon; Mendez; Naic; Ternate.
- Section 1 expressly fixes the reapportionment district membership by listing the cities and municipalities comprising each legislative district.
Implementation by the Commission on Elections
- Section 2 directs the Commission on Elections to issue the necessary rules and regulations to implement Republic Act No. 9727.
- Section 2 requires the issuance of implementing rules and regulations specifically for operationalization of the reapportionment in elections.
Repealing of inconsistent laws
- Section 3 provides that all laws, rules and regulations which are inconsistent with Republic Act No. 9727 are repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.
- Section 3 establishes the Act’s supremacy over conflicting provisions through an automatic repeal/amendment/modification mechanism for inconsistency.
